Well my plan was to update this as I worked my way through my first NaNoWriMo that wonderful invention where thousands of crazies decide to write 50,000 words in one month. Alas, I didn't update the blog-LOL. Part of me hating wasting the words to be honest ;). But I did it- I finished 50,000 words in a brand new novel that was only a vague idea, a character, and a name just a short while ago. I did my nano completely raw- no notes, no character sheets, no plot. And a wonderful thing happened- a book grew. It's not finished, although I have written the ending. But it's a book. Real characters, action, adventure, romance, intrigue- it's all there in a very rough form, but there. I honestly cannot recommend the NaNo process enough for anyone with even the remotest idea they may want to write. It frees the writing spirit and reminds you why creating worlds and people is so magical. I'm tired and a bit brain dead...but extremely happy! |
